Shroud

A site-specific installation at Coffin Farm.

The places we inhabit imprint on us, shape the opportunities we encounter and the paths we take through time and space.

Shroud explores how to imprint a place into fiber. Woven into the framework of the pasture fence, naturally dyed silk adds form to a grid shaped by years of existing alongside the weather and inhabitants of Coffin Farm. The silk itself has changed over its time at the farm - colors shifting with the interplay of sun and cloud, texture softening from the friction with the fence and animals, tension tempering with moisture and wind.
